Me and my mum!

Thought you might like to see a picture of my mum - Wispa! You can see where my super sleek figure comes from eh!!

This is where I was born!

Born in a castle! It is true I tell you. Rather splendid, though where I am now isn't too bad either!

Soo long.....

Hi everybody!

Over a week since I last posted......and there is lots to report. I have been keeping a very low profile because I have heard master talking about the dreaded 'C' word. I haven't even dared to get onto the laptop in case anyone spots me. I guess my loins have been itching a bit, and I have been having a bit of an occasional rub if you get my drift. But nothing too heavy - I'm still only a young pup you know! But I thought they were going a bit over the top when master and his missus starting talking about phoning the vet up! Aaaaaaaaaaaghh!!! Enough to stop me sleeping I can tell you.

The rest of my routine has been pretty normal - though no sausages to keep on the straight and narrow in the park, so I have been looking for any opportunity to play with other dogs, much to masters annoyance!

There is another great website that I look at - called The Labrador Forum, which features lots of dogs similar to me, though in other colours as well - black and yellow! I know that master and his missus ask lots of questions about me....I don't know why they don't just ask me!

Enjoy your week,

Mars

Summer nostalgia!

Don't you remember those balmy summer days....thought this photo would remind you of what it was like! This is me with my swimming pool, which master set up for himself, but I invited myself in! In the end, there was nothing he could do to stop me taking a running jump and launching myself in. Waaaaaaaaah!! Meanwhile I will cuddle up (on the kitchen floor - pah no sofa!) and enjoy a nice cuppa (cold water!)

The Gentle Lead

Don't be fooled by this one fellow canines......it's a trick to stop you pulling on the lead, and I think I am next. Master bought one after seeing how Frank Chalk was using one with his lab. They have tried it on me a few times, but I won't give up without a fight! The idea is that it goes over my mouth and around my neck, and if I start trying to walk to fast, it janks my head round smartish. Mind you, it does work! The best incentive to stop me walking to fast if for master to have a piece of cooked sausage in his hand - the smell is too much for me and I hug his side until I get the sausage!

Thought you might be interested in this poodles - just be careful because this so called 'gentle' lead is anything but!

see ya,

Master is away - Hip hip hurray!

Master has gone off on another of his jaunts. He pretends it's work, but I'm not so sure! Meals out, dodgy nightclubs and long lie ins is what I reckon he is up to! Work - pa - he should see what work I have to do. But while he is away, I get the chance to play, and be a bit naughty because masters missus looks after me, and I can twist her around my little finger! All i have to do is pace around the kitchen a bit and before long I get some treats to keep me occupied. think I mentioned the peanut butter one and the coiled spring one (see top tips on left hand side), and the latest is like a flat bone that I chew on - good for my gums and teeth apparently. I like it, which is the most important thing!

The only downside to master being away is that his missus goes into town shopping and I have to go in my crate. However, I do get all the excitement when she returns and unpacks all her boxes. I still don't understand the human (female!) fascination with shoes.

Anyway, hoping to see master later on, if he has had enough partying that is!

bye

Monday Morning Blues

I can't make the joke about every day being the same again! What's new then? I had better think of something interesting that you humans might be interested in....Like why we have our noses stuck in the ground so much! I can tell you why - that's where our variety comes from. We don't have quite the same capabilities as you lot, so have to make do with what we have. And just because you can't see it, I can tell you that our sense of smell is top notch. It's like a different way of seeing. You can picture the whole history of what is going on by smelling around. Who's been, who's gone (literally!) and who to look for!

See you soon,

Sunday Morning fun!

Just had a great run in the park. Master did some training with me - kept calling 'COME' just as I found an interesting scent. What a pain, but I can't resist because master has a small piece of cooked sausage in his hand! (Top Tip - If you ever struggle getting your puppy to do the 'obedience thing, use cooked sausages...but don't give them out willy nilly...only for special training!)

Anyway, thought you might like to see another picture of me sleeping - The best position to be in! I really pity you humans some time with your schedules and meetings - I don't need a filofax in my life! I know it's a bit of a strange position to sleep in (the 2nd photo that is!), but I like it, and that's the most important thing folks!

By the way, its great to hear from you, and to know that my struggles with paws and laptop keys are not in vain! Please leave some comments. If your master is being a pain, or struggling with something, please ask me any question you wish, and I will try to give you some canine wisdom!

Enjoy your day of rest - for me its pretty much the same as any other - Ha!

Snug as a rug!

It's a dogs life!!

Relaxing after doing a hard day of..... well actually not very much!

It's the weekend!

Yippee - weekend which means lots of fun.......started with a romp in the park, but then went a bit flat as I had to go into my crate (aka a cage!) for an hour in the morning whilst DIY stuff got done by master, and then they went off for the whole afternoon and left me again! And there's me thinking the weekend is all about me!

It's not all bad though, as they swung by the pet shop on the way home and bought a new collar, lead, treats and a 'harness' whatever that is. One look and I was bucking like a bronco - no way they were going to fit that piece of perverted webbing on me!

Anyway, I overheard a conversation in the kitchen, and it turns out a baby is on the way - master has finally produced the goods! So that's why they went out - looking at nursery furniture. I had better enjoy the attention whilst I can, but I do love little babies so won't mind too much.

You probably think that I am like a zoo animal - all caged in and that. But it's not as bad as that really. If I didn't have it, I would probably get up to mischief - chewing stuff that takes my fancy, and I might even be tempted to let rip (can't think of a nice way of saying it!) on the floor if I couldn't contain myself! But not in my cage. My mum (Whisper - another chocolate bar!) taught me well - no messing in our litter I can tell you!

Anyway - I might try and find a piccy of me as a real youngster!

Another day!

Hello everyone!

You will not be surprised to hear that today is turning out like every other day! But now I'm settling into this blog thing, I can tell you about some of my recent adventures!

Take last weekend for example. I travelled with master to see an old university friend of his. None other than Frank Chalk - the great blogger of teaching in the inner cities. It surely was an eye opener to see life outside Cheltenham. Smoke, grime, children with no shoes......just like the Hovis advert - you do remember that don't you?

Believe it or not, but Frank has his very own dog, just like me! We are so alike, he could have been my brother! We had a great time - constant play for the whole weekend!! I even went in a pub and sampled some proper beer - well Frank kept on going on about how much better it was than the 'soft' southern stuff anyway. We played for ages and went on lots of walks. I was knackered and slept all the way home in the car!

all the best

Now I'm laid out.....phew........

It's the kitchen floor for me now. Just had 1/2 hour playing with one of my treats that mrs master has fiendishly concocted (who said dogs weren't good at english!). Basically it consists of a rubber kong thing (those with dogs will know what i am on about!) with a treat stuck inside. No ordinary treat mind you - it's like a spring that she winds into the inside of the Kong. No way I can get it out, however hard I lick or throw the think around. The game only finished when master through it onto the floor and the treat dropped out - heaven!

After that there was only one thing for it - lying on my back and thinking of England (well, doggieland actually!!!) whilst pushing out a few zzzzz's.

Goodnight.

Looking regal in the garden!

Later the same day......

Well, I have got to grips with all this techno stuff, and I'm pretty pleased with my first days posting! No rest though, as I've had dinner, watched master mow the lawn, and now its time for some bone chewing!

Masters mate (commomly known as the missus) does something really good. I've got a hollow bone, and she smears peanut butter inside - WOW. (TOP TIP FOR OTHER DOGGIE OWNERS!!!). In fact I've got a great idea - why don't I post all the cools things my master and his missus do, and then everyone will know about them! Having said that, I will also tell you about the things I find a pain in the *****!!

Well, I have found another piccie for you all to admire (I'm not vain or anything!)

This is me!!!

I promised a picture - this is the first one. Forgive the tongue hanging out - it was a hot day! It was also a couple of months ago - I'm quite a bit bigger now!

Hello from Mars

I live a great life.......my master comes downstairs anytime from 8-9am and lets me out to do my business. Then its breakfast - pretty bland stuff - but master says its good for me and blinking expensive!!!

Another trip outside and then I pester master for a trip round the block. If I'm lucky, I go to the park and can have a good sniff around! Then its home and a nice sleep in the kitchen. Master still keeps me in a cage in the kitchen overnight and when he goes out with his missus - it sounds cruel but I know it's my space.

I love sleep - I have the most amazing dreams! Sometimes I am floating in a world of doggie biscuits - lying on my back - everytime I turn my head I can start munching!

I live in a nice house - well, I don't really know any different I suppose! There are always plenty of toys on hand, and master is good with little treats and bones.

...Oh, by the way, I havn't told you who I am!!!! Silly me. I had my 6 month birthday a few days ago (more treats!!) and am a boy - well more of a teenager I suppose! I am commonly known as a chocolate brown labrador. If I can get the technology to work, I will post a picture of me!

Anyway - back to my dreams, and speak soon.
